We can find how rare an NFT is by searching in our collection. Let’s say we have Cryptopunk #2341 . On the top bar, click on ” All Collections ” and then find the name of our collection (Cryptopunks).
Click on it and then search for our NFT. We can see this in Opensea under ” details ” in our NFT information. In this case, the token id matches the number of our Cryptopunk, so we don’t have to search too far. Click on ” lookup “, and a pop-up window will appear with info on our Cryptopunk: from its position in the rarity ranking to all its attributes and a general rarity score .
How to check NFT rarity from a collection?
It may also be the case that we want to own an NFT from a collection that interests us, such as Bored Apes. Let’s say you want a Bored Ape that’s somewhere in the middle of the rarity range.
As before, we searched All Collections for the Bored Ape Yacht Club project. Let’s imagine that out of the 10,000 NFTs out there, we want something between 4000 and 6000 rarity (so it’s in the middle).
You can sort by rarity and even try to make it in a certain price range and with certain attributes like having hats of a certain type or clothes. In this case, you can sort by halo and then these Bored Apes appear with medium rarity.
Discover collections
You may want to discover new projects, which is easy to do if we go to rarity.tools. On that website, we can see the latest collections added , the most popular ones (based on factors like number of owners), and all collections (which you can order by different factors).
For example, if you click on one called Pork1984 , we see what this collection is about. you will also find a description of it and a link to its website . In addition, you can see how many people have bought or sold this collection in the last 7 days, its value in total over that time period and the average price it has been sold for during that duration.
